All orchestra members are amateur musicians with skills ranging from intermediate to advance, and have a dedicated interest in playing live music for Scottish Country Dances, concerts and facilities whilst nurturing musicianship and having fun.

 

As our name entails, half of us play the fiddles, the other half, guitar, cello, double bass, piano and accordion. Interested musicians are welcomed to visit and play at any regular orchestra practice. Do bring your instrument of choice! To join, simply attend three practices so you have a good understanding of what we do, and pay a fee of $150 for our Concert & Dance music.

 

The Orchestra is a non-profit group. Revenues from performances are used for rehearsal space rental, website maintenance etc.

Rehearsals are from September to June on every 2nd and 4th Tuesday, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, in Room 201 at the Highlands United Church. The address is 3255 Edgemont Boulevard, North Vancouver (in Edgemont Village).
